I AM

A STORYTELLER.

A DANCER.

A CHOREOGRAPHER.

AN EDUCATOR.

A MULTIMEDIA ARTIST.

A FILMMAKER, DIRECTOR & EDITOR.

Henrikke Sande Boger is a storyteller that expresses herself through dance and the visual medium of film. As an Alumna from New York University, Tisch School of The Arts with an MFA in Dance and Technology. She identifies herself as a multimedia artist as she is passionate about intersecting dance and technology and is an advocate for creating new possibilities in the realm of dance and choreography.

Her choreography has been showcased internationally in New York, Los Angeles, Washington DC, Houston, Portland, Jacksonville, Houston, and Reno in the United States. As well as Mexico City, Paris, Rome, London, Ho Chi Minh City, Luleå, and Bucuresti through her newest film project “Røtter”, in collaboration with director Raven Jackson and cinematographer Felipe Vara De Rey. She received her first film award in July 2020 at Short Film Factory Festival in Bucuresti, Romania.

Her special expertise and niche competence have provided opportunities to teach the subject of dance and film in higher education, providing a new subject in the arts education, at the University of Stavanger. She gives training in practice-based hands-on training by filming the moving body, and the participants get to focus on the genre of dance for the camera. Participants also encounter concept-based learning, receiving information through class discussion, studio play, and viewing each other’s work in the form of video material.

While living in New York Henrikke has achieved diverse experience on several film sets. She has been a production assistant for Joan Baez's music video “The Last Leaf”, featuring New York City Ballet. Starring as a performer in Priska's music video "Gold In The River" directed by Sheldon Chau, and been an assistant choreographer for "The Holloway Picture" directed by Greyson Horst.

Henrikke graduated from the University of Stavanger with a Bachelor in Dance with Postgraduate Teacher Training in 2013.

She has specialized expertise in dance film as a separate art subject in higher education, but also has knowledge in dance performance, choreography, pedagogy, digital branding, and digital art. Her eye and photography capture rhythm, motion, patterns, shapes, and synchronization all inspired by her experience in dance.

Henrikke completed the International Student Visa Program at Steps on Broadway in New York City, 2014. During her training under the ISVP program, she gained diverse training in ballet, jazz, contemporary, musical theater, Bollywood, and Pilates. She has a background as a company member in Glow Dance Company, both experience as a dance teacher, and freelancer.

She believes that an optimistic mindset and seeing adversity as an opportunity is critical in the field of dance. She sees setbacks as a chance to come back stronger than ever before, and rejection and mistakes are a vital part of the process of being a human and an artist.
